CHS Schedule Update: Beginning January 5th, Cassville High School will be returning to a 5-day student attendance schedule.
We are excited to transition back to full attendance beginning second semester. As a result of the recent adjustments by the Centers for Disease Control and the modified quarantine guidance from the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services as well as the Barry County Health Department, we believe this provides us great options to keep staff and students safe while also offering in-person learning.
In order to maintain full 5-day attendance beginning January 5th, the masking requirement for staff and students will remain in place.

UPDATED 10/19/2020
Due to direct contact to a positive case and a limited number of staff available, we have temporarily suspended all pre-school student services through October 30. We plan to restart pre-school services on November 2.
UPDATED 10/15/2020
COVID-19 positive cases and exposure levels have risen at Cassville High School. Due to both positive cases and quarantine situations, CHS is experiencing an increase in student absences. As a result, effective Monday, October 19, high school students will transition to a blended learning schedule. Please note, this change will take place in the high school only.
What is a blended learning schedule?
The blended learning schedule will reduce the number of students in the building at the same time, thus allowing for smaller class sizes and giving more space for social distancing. Students in grades 9-12 will attend in-person school 2 days a week and will learn virtually 3 days a week.
During the student’s virtual learning days, students will have access to quality teacher instructed curriculum and assignments. Students will still be responsible for their school work five days per week.
How do I know when my student will attend seated school/virtual school?
Students will be divided up into two groups, black group and gold group, based on the student’s last name. Family units will be kept together based on enrollment data.
How long will high school students follow the blended learning schedule?
CHS will transition to blended learning on Monday, October 19. The district will re-evaluate this learning model during the first part of November based on COVID-19 case rates. However, the newly established bell schedule will stay in place for the remainder of this 2020-2021 school year.

- SIXTH GRADE: Beginning, Thursday, September 17, all sixth grade students will transition to a virtual learning platform, or Engagement Level Three as outlined in our Return-to-Learn Plan.
- Sixth grade students will return to seated, in-person class on Tuesday, September 29, unless instructed otherwise by the health department. This is subject to change based on district and health department evaluation.
- While at Engagement Level Three, teachers will provide access to distance learning for all sixth grade students using Google Classroom. Teachers will be in contact with parents and students for assignments and more information.
- SEVENTH AND EIGHTH GRADE: Students should report to school for seated, in-person learning unless contacted by the Barry County Health Department and instructed to quarantine.
If your child has been identified as a close contact to the person that has tested positive, you will be contacted directly. If the health department does not contact you directly, it has been determined you or your child were not directly exposed to a known positive case.
A close contact is identified as an individual that has been within 6 feet for 15 cumulative minutes or longer within 2 days to a person with a positive case. Close contacts will be quarantined by the Barry County Health Department.
The health and safety of our Wildcat family and community members will remain our primary priority. The district will continue to work in partnership with the Barry County Health Department as we strive to follow the best protocols during this pandemic.
