Bowen Honored with 2017 Music Advocacy Award
Mrs. Carolyn Bowen was selected by the Cassville R-IV music department staff as the recipient of the 2017 Music Advocacy Award.
The Music Advocacy award has been award annually for nearly 15 years to one individual in the Cassville community that is committed to the Cassville R-IV Music Department.
"Carolyn has been an instrumental figure in the success of our Arts programs at Cassville Schools," stated Mrs. Mary Richmiller, CHS Choral Director. "As a musician herself, she has participated in various choirs for over 60 years. Starting in high school here at CHS as well as in large group choir and various vocal ensembles and was the Majorette for the Drum Core."
Bowen has also participated in the First Baptist Church Choir and has served as the manager for the Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce "The Show" for 25 years.
"She is personally committed to our Arts program's success and continuity, and without her help, guidance and participation we would not be able to do as much as we do for the students at Cassville," said Richmiller.
Bowen is also an elected member of the Cassville Board of Education.
