CHS Speech and Debate Students Qualify for Nationals

Four Cassville High School Speech and Debate students have qualified for the National Debate and Speech Tournament which will be held June 17-23 in Birmingham, Alabama.
The students who have earned this honor are as follows:
- Jake Whitham, Dramatic Interpretation, qualified with a second place win
- Tempest Gray, Program of Oral Interpretation, qualified with a first place win
- Olivia Padilla, Senate Congress, qualified with a first place win
- Levi Hodge, House Congress, qualified with a first place win
The National Debate and Speech Tournament has been held across the country since 1931 and today is the largest academic competition in the world. Each year, more than 3,500 high school students compete in the week-long competition to determine the National Champion.
