CMS Safety Reminder Regarding Morning Drop Off

As we finish out the 23-24 school year, we would like to address some concerns having to do with safety issues with our morning drop off procedures.
Parents dropping off middle school students in the Rock Gym parking lot off of Main Street need to unload on the far south side of the lot, nearest the middle school entrance. Middle school students should not be crossing through traffic.
Middle school students that are dropped off with intermediate school siblings should use the sidewalk on the east side of the lot to get to the middle school entrance.
14th Street drop offs should use one of the 3 crosswalks or the primary circle drive. If your child walks to school, please remind them to use the crosswalks on 14th Street to cross or the Main Street crosswalk to reach campus.
With the addition of Sunshine Coffee near campus, a number of students have arrived at school and then left to get drinks. This is a violation of school policy and an unsafe situation. Please remind your students that they will need to be dropped off at the coffee shop before coming on to campus and then be mindful of traffic and utilize appropriate crosswalks as they walk to campus.
