Cassville FCCLA Students Attend Missouri Career and Technical Education Legislative Day
Cassville FCCLA members Coleman Hoppes, Kaylyn Bryant, and Robert Elliott attended the Missouri Career and Technical Education Legislative Day in Jefferson City on Wednesday, February 8th, 2017.
This day is designed for students to spend time at the State Capitol advocating for Career and Technical Education. Students bring projects that they've completed in their local programs to display in the rotunda.
In addition, they make appointments with their area legislatures to meet one-on-one to share their personal learning experiences and explain the impact Career and Technical Education has had on them in preparing for college and career. Our students met with Representative Scott Fitzpatrick and left materials for Senator Sater sharing their experiences from Family and Consumer Sciences and FCCLA: Family, Career and Community Leaders of America. Students were accompanied by Cassville FCCLA Adviser, Samantha Cosper. This trip was made possible by funding from Freedom Bank of Southwest Missouri.
